Some dissolved NSA board members could be reappointed – Kofi Adams

Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams has indicated that some former members of the dissolved National Sports Authority (NSA) Governing Board might be reappointed when a new board is established. President John Dramani Mahama dissolved the NSA board, headed by Dr Fred Awaah, on September 2 as part of a broader decision impacting the governing boards of nine state institutions.

A Presidency statement revealed that the affected boards would be reconstituted at some point. In conversation with Joy Sports, Mr Adams clarified that the dissolution does not preclude former board members from potentially returning. He elaborated that certain individuals might be retained due to their expertise, while others could be reinstated if renominated by the institutions they represented earlier.

"We are set to form the new board soon," Mr Adams stated. "Some members of the dissolved board may still be part of the new board or other boards because they could still contribute with their expertise. Some individuals are also representing institutions, and those institutions might still trust them to represent them. Hence, they could potentially be nominated again, meaning some of them might be part of the new board."
