Sheikh Hamdan expands Rashid Villages project to honour legacy of late brother

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister, has unveiled plans to expand his humanitarian Rashid Villages project to Zanzibar. This follows the 10th anniversary of his brother Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed's death, for whom the initiative was originally launched. The new village aims to provide essential services such as housing, education, healthcare, and social support to underprivileged families, equipping them with skills for a better future.

The village in Zanzibar will feature furnished homes, a mosque, retail outlets, and sustainable amenities to promote economic activity and environmental consciousness. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of continuing his brother's legacy of generosity and commitment to helping others, stating that the project will provide families with stability, opportunities, and a higher quality of life.

The first Rashid Village in Kenya is already underway, featuring 72 dunams of land with sustainable practices, fully furnished homes, a school, and a health centre. The Supervisory Committee of Rashid Villages oversees the project's implementation, monitoring progress on the Kenyan village and planning further expansions.
