PM channels RM5,000 initial assistance to Tambun fire victims

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has extended initial support amounting to RM5,000 to the family affected by a devastating fire at a residential area in Tambun, Ipoh. The gesture was presented by the Tambun MP’s special officer, Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri, representing the Service Centre of the Tambun MP. The assistance aims to alleviate the financial burden faced by the bereaved family, which has suffered the loss of three loved ones in the tragic incident.

According to Mohamad Hairul Amir, the assistance provided will be the first step towards easing the family's situation, and the implementation coordination unit of the Prime Minister's Department (JPM) will conduct a detailed assessment tomorrow. They plan to extend their support by helping with repairs to the damaged house and providing any other necessary aid.

Furthermore, the service centre is ready to offer temporary accommodation if required, acknowledging that the house's condition may necessitate a prolonged repair process.

Mohamad Hairul Amir also mentioned that they would collaborate with the Social Welfare Department (JKM) and other relevant agencies to explore suitable assistance options for the family, such as counselling services. Additionally, they will assist in arranging the funeral arrangements for all the victims. Anwar Ibrahim expressed his condolences to the victim's family and instructed the service centre to furnish the family with the utmost support possible during this challenging time.
