PM channels RM5,000 initial assistance to Tambun fire victims

IPOH, Sept 20 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has extended initial assistance of RM5,000 to the family of three victims of a house fire in Tambun, Ipoh. The contribution, presented by Tambun MP Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri, aims to help ease the financial burden of the grieving family. The Prime Minister's Department will assess the damage and provide further support, including potential repairs to the house and temporary accommodation if needed.

The Social Welfare Department and other agencies will also be consulted to identify additional assistance, such as counseling services. The victims, Raja Ahmad Raja Ali, 70, Zaitun Mohamed, 64, and their 18-year-old grandson, Nik Abdurrahman Azimin Harith Helal, tragically lost their lives in the early morning blaze at a two-storey terraced house.

Raja Ikhwan Hadi, 47, survived the inferno. The Fire and Rescue Department responded to the call at 4am, with personnel from Tambun and Ipoh stations quickly arriving at the scene.
