Pakistani businessman Muizz Mirza buys English football club Plymouth Parkway

Kuwaiti-Pakistani businessman Muizz Ahmed Mirza has purchased English non-league football club Plymouth Parkway FC. The 7th tier club in English football now has a Pakistani businessman at the helm, following in the footsteps of Shahid Khan as the second Pakistani owner of an English football team. Founded in 1988, Plymouth Parkway plays their home games at Bolitho Park and currently compete in the Southern League Premier Division South, four divisions below their city rivals Plymouth Argyle.

Mirza, through his international education company MEC Study Group, has ambitious plans for the club's future. He aims to make Plymouth Parkway a full-time professional club within the next 12 to 18 months and invests in the club's academy, infrastructure, and stadium facilities. The new owner also plans to integrate football with education, offering students the opportunity to play competitive football while learning about the management and commercial aspects of running a football club.

Plymouth Parkway chairman Mark Russell previously stated that Mirza's business background and international university connections provide a "genuine opportunity" for the club. However, for Mirza, the immediate priority is to preserve the club's identity and its strong connection with supporters while establishing a solid foundation for sustainable growth.
