Over 7,400 Meritorious Students Receive E-Scooty Assistance Across Madhya Pradesh

Over 7,400 meritorious students in Madhya Pradesh were provided assistance for e-scooties and motorized vehicles on Saturday, according to a state-level program held at the Government Subhash Excellence Higher Secondary School in Bhopal. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav ceremonially handed over vehicle keys to the students and transferred the vehicle assistance directly into the bank accounts of eligible students.

Yadav emphasized that the government was providing scooties now, but the students would need to take responsibility for the government and the system in the future. He also claimed that the dropout rate at the primary level has improved, with the state now achieving zero dropout at the primary level. Yadav noted that more than 50% of meritorious students now come from government schools, an increase from previous years.

During his interaction with students, Yadav inquired about their families, studies, and career goals, which ranged from becoming chartered accountants, doctors, and engineers to starting agriculture ventures and becoming data scientists. Eligibility criteria for the scooty scheme have been updated, with students needing to score at least 70% in Class 12 and be the top student of their school to qualify.

For e-scooties, assistance is up to Rs 1.20 lakh, while motorized vehicles receive assistance up to Rs 90,000, covering the ex-showroom price, registration, insurance, two helmets, and accessories. Yadav also made remarks about Rahul Gandhi's visit to MP, criticizing his party's rule for 55 years and questioning the lack of women ministers in the Congress government in Karnataka.
