‘Old US-led order collapsed, Islamic nations must implement new one,’ says Iran's Ghalibaf

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated on Sunday that the "old American order" in West Asia had "collapsed", urging Islamic nations to implement a new one. He highlighted what he referred to as "two strategic errors" in Iran's "elite and political atmosphere". According to Ghalibaf, Tehran communicated its messages and conditions to the US through intermediaries.

He stressed that the Strait of Hormuz would not reopen until Iran's rights are recognized and America fulfills its commitments. Ghalibaf alleged that the old America-led order in West Asia no longer exists. He flagged two strategic errors: an approach advocating war without defining a mechanism or horizon for ending it, and underestimating Iran's national capabilities.

Ghalibaf said the first mistake could keep the country in a state of permanent crisis, while the second could place national resources and dignity at the disposal of the enemy. He emphasized that Iran's diplomatic positions are "completely clear, rational and non-negotiable", stressing the need to fight and negotiate while clearly explaining Iran's conditions to the other side.
