Like father, like son: David Ellison considers Nashville alongside Austin as future home for Paramount

David Ellison, CEO of Paramount, is reportedly considering Nashville as a potential future home for the media company's offices, following in the footsteps of his father, Larry Ellison, who shifted Oracle's headquarters to Austin. Sources indicate that Paramount is seeking 400,000 square feet of office space in the next two to three years, though the city currently lacks a suitable vacancy.

An alternative option being explored is the construction of a custom office space. Additionally, the younger Ellison has reportedly shown interest in Austin, specifically the Bluebonnet Business Center, one of only two available vacant spaces over 400,000 square feet in the city. While Larry Ellison shifted Oracle's headquarters to Austin in 2020 and later to Nashville, the move of a film studio to Nashville is not seen as generating the same level of excitement as the shift of a software company to Austin.

Some speculate that the potential move away from Hollywood may be motivated more by a legal dispute with California over the potential merger with Warner Bros. Discovery than genuine plans to relocate.
