Legacy Leadership Africa Institute to host boardroom women’s leadership programme

Legacy Leadership Africa Institute is set to host the Boardroom Women Leadership Programme, an executive education initiative targeting the next generation of women leaders. The two-day interactive session, scheduled for October 7-8, will take place at Dynaspace within the Signature Apartments in Accra. Aimed at preparing women for boardroom responsibilities, the programme will cover governance knowledge, strategic insight and executive presence.

The organisers note that the timing is crucial, as boards in Africa are evolving due to heightened expectations for corporate governance, increasingly intricate risk environments, and a growing appreciation for varied leadership perspectives. The programme will focus on three pillars: governance excellence, strategic leadership, and executive presence.

Participants will gain practical knowledge of governance frameworks, boardroom leadership skills, and the regulatory landscape for effective oversight. Strategic leadership sessions will enhance participants' ability to think long-term, challenge management constructively, manage resources, and contribute to sustainable value creation.

Key topics include corporate governance, roles and responsibilities, strategic thinking, executive presence, boardroom communication, risk oversight, ethics, and integrity, as well as crafting personal board leadership strategies. The programme, tailored for accomplished women leaders in various sectors, will be facilitated by experienced governance practitioners, executive leaders, and specialists with a wealth of boardroom leadership, governance, and management experience.
