Juventus condemn fans for ‘lack of respect’ after interrupting Mazzola tribute

Juventus have issued a statement denouncing fans for displaying "lack of respect" during a minute's silence for the late football legend Sandro Mazzola before their Serie A match against Atalanta. The club stated, "No rivalry can justify a lack of respect." Mazzola, widely regarded as one of Italy's greatest footballers, passed away at the age of 83.

The tribute was intended to be observed ahead of Juventus's 2-0 victory over Atalanta, but some supporters in the Curva Sud section chose to face away from the pitch and sing songs in honor of their own club legends. This interruption was quickly overshadowed by a chorus of applause from the majority of the stadium's supporters.
