Imo CP deploys troops ahead of senior police officers conference in state capital

Imo State Police Commissioner Audu Garba Bosso has deployed troops to key locations in Owerri, the state capital, in anticipation of the Senior Police Officers Conference scheduled to take place from September 21 to 23. According to the Command's spokesperson, Henry Okoye, the deployment aims to ensure a smooth event with the cooperation of other security agencies.

The conference, themed "Developing a Nigeria Police Roadmap for Effective Management of Security During Elections," is expected to gather senior police officers and dignitaries from across the nation to discuss crucial security matters, public safety, and managing security during elections. Police personnel have been positioned at the venue, designated hotels, major roads, and other strategic areas, including the airport route.

They are instructed to maintain professionalism, uphold the rule of law, and respect citizens' rights. Police Traffic Wardens have also been stationed at crucial points to manage traffic and facilitate a hassle-free flow of movement. The spokesperson urged motorists and residents to cooperate with the authorities and make necessary adjustments to their routes when necessary.

The Command welcomed all dignitaries and participants to the state, promising a secure environment for the event. Okoye cautioned against criminal activities near the venue, designated hotels, and strategic locations, assuring that violators will face legal consequences.
