How 34-year-old man was found dead hours after leaving Jos residence

Saeed Saleh Gambazi, a 34-year-old resident of Rikkos community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, has been found murdered. The victim, who left his home on Friday, was discovered dead and abandoned around Bauchi Ring Road. His remains were subsequently moved to the Old Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) morgue.

The family, in a state of shock, expressed their disbelief at the sudden nature of the tragedy, adding that they were unable to comprehend the motive behind the murder. Salifa Saleh Gambazi, the deceased's younger sister, was the first to be notified of the incident. Upon receiving the call, she was informed that her brother had been stabbed in the back and had succumbed to his injuries upon reaching the hospital.

She advised that the body should be retrieved from Anguwan Rukuba Police Post, after which they were directed to the Nassarawa Police Division before finally arriving at the morgue to take the body for burial. The deceased's father, Saleh Abdu Gambazi, described the loss as a great tragedy to the family, emphasizing that Saeed was a peaceful, dedicated, and focused individual.

According to the family, Saeed left his home on Friday evening, but did not return home that night, which led to heightened concern within the family, particularly as his phone number proved to be unreachable. When asked about his last moments with Saeed, the father recounted that his wife informed him of the death as he was unable to answer his phone due to being at a neighboring house.

He further described Saeed as a calm and jovial person, and lamented the senseless and painful nature of the murder, asserting that it would forever remain etched in their memories. The mother of the deceased, Hajaratu Abubakar Aminu, described the perpetrators as cruel, expressing her devastation over the loss of a son who would be remembered fondly.

She recounted the last moments before her son left home, noting that she had left him at home boiling water for his bath, instructing him to lock the main entrance of the house prior to her departure. The family mentioned that while the motive behind the murder remains unclear, the police have reassured them that they will not rest until the perpetrators are apprehended and held accountable for their heinous act.
