Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer’s ‘Ride or Die’ Canceled at Prime Video After One Season

The series "Ride or Die," starring Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer, has been canceled by Prime Video after just one season, according to TheWrap. The adventure comedy, initially produced by Skydance Television and later transferred to Paramount Television after Skydance Media's acquisition of Paramount Global, premiered all eight episodes of its first season on the platform.

Despite positive reviews and topping the service's public top 10 rankings after its debut, the series did not get a second season. TheWrap reports that Paramount Television was considering a second season, but ultimately decided against it. The series, created by Tessa Coates, followed best friends Debbie and Judith (portrayed by Spencer and Waddingham) as they traveled abroad, with Judith's secret job as a high-class assassin adding unexpected complications.

The news of the cancellation follows Amazon MGM Studios' recent restructuring of its television department, which saw Kara Smith promoted to head of drama and several other leadership roles changed. The cancellation also comes three months after these changes were implemented, with key executives like Jen Chambers, Michael McDonald, and Odetta Watkins leaving the company.
