Evenepoel wins record fourth straight world time trial, Reusser retains women's title

Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel claimed a record fourth consecutive men's time trial title at the UCI Road World Championships in Montreal. The 39.2 km circuit was completed in a remarkable 44 minutes, 53.13 seconds. Italian rider Filippo Ganna finished 57.31 seconds behind, while 19-year-old Frenchman Paul Seixas, who made his Tour de France debut this year, earned bronze with a time 1 minute, 13.04 seconds slower.

Evenepoel became the first man to win four consecutive world elite time trials. The Swiss cyclist Marlen Reusser defended her title on her 35th birthday, finishing the 50 km course in 50 minutes, 24.44 seconds. Britain's Zoe Backstedt took silver, and Germany's Franziska Koch secured bronze, 45.54 seconds behind Reusser. The course included a challenging uphill finish on Old Montreal.

Reusser, known as "The Flying Elephant," had expressed nervousness about the course's demands before the race. Netherlands' Demi Vollering, the 2018 Tour de France champion, finished eighth, 1 minute, 49.94 seconds behind Reusser.
