Election Commissioner S S Sandhu, other top officials get notices under SIR

Several high-ranking government officials, including former and serving bureaucrats, have received notices related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, according to the source. These notices cover discrepancies, lack of mapping, and name mismatches. Among the recipients are prominent figures such as Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Sebi Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Principal Scientific Advisor Ajay Kumar Sood, Health Secretary Punya Salila, Fisheries Secretary Abhilaksh Likhi, and Fertiliser Secretary Rajat Kumar Mishra.

Retired bureaucrats like NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Arvind Panagariya, former JNU Vice-Chancellor Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, and former animal husbandry secretary Alka Upadhyay have also been issued notices. The notices were issued to 593 individuals at the New Moti Bagh polling booth, which falls under the Delhi Cantt Assembly constituency, where the majority of these high-ranking officials reside.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, MP Bansuri Swaraj, and former BJP chief Virendra Kumar Sachdeva are among the 33 lakh electors who have been named in the SIR process.
