Delhi high court gets 7 new judges

Delhi High Court has received seven new judges, as notified by the government on Saturday. The new appointees include Nivedita Anil Sharma and Nisha Sahay Saxena, both elevated to permanent judges, while Sanjay Sharma, Bharat Parashar, Dinesh Bhatt, Arun Bhardwaj and Aditi Choudhary were appointed as additional judges for two years.

Judicial officer Yash Paul Burney has been appointed as a judge for J&K and Ladakh High Court, while Manoj Prasad, Akhil Kumar and Ram Sharma will serve as judges for Jharkhand High Court. In Karnataka, Usharani, Kuruba Shanthappa Bharath Kumar and Nerale Veerabhadraiah Bhavani were also appointed as additional judges. The 25 high courts across the country currently have 304 judge vacancies, with the Allahabad High Court leading at 53, followed by Calcutta and Punjab and Haryana High Courts.
