CogniBrain: A System Implementing Full Human Thought Pipeline for Conversational Reasoning

CogniBrain: Human Brain Synapse-Simulated Cognitive Thinking System Project Overview I have developed a learning-association thinking system based on simulations of synaptic connections in the human brain. I am currently refining it to truly mimic the way the human brain thinks. It aims to form genuine conceptual understanding of words and perform real reasoning, rather than token prediction as…

CogniBrain is an innovative system that emulates the entire human thought process, from learning to reasoning, in order to achieve genuine conceptual understanding and real cognitive abilities. This project, currently under development, aims to transcend the traditional Transformer LLM probabilistic generation method by replicating the intricate logic of human neural networks.

These networks are composed of dynamic neuron nodes and synaptic connections that grow, split, and iterate with the input data, following Hebbian learning principles.

Unlike conventional AI models that generate text through statistical word prediction, CogniBrain's cognitive core is built on autonomous cognition, associative learning, and step-by-step reasoning. It initiates with a blank cognitive state and learns from the raw input data, extracting information, relationships, and logical rules without any pre-existing knowledge.

This zero-pretraining incremental learning capability allows the system to continuously refine and expand its internal neural network, eliminating the risk of overwriting the original cognition.

One of the key distinctions of CogniBrain from traditional LLM models is its ability to avoid cognitive hallucinations and generate logically consistent outputs, thanks to its rigorous step-by-step reasoning process. Furthermore, it simulates the natural process of memory attenuation in humans, where frequently used connections become stable and are preserved, while rarely accessed connections gradually decay and are forgotten.

This ensures that the system maintains a focused and efficient cognitive state, free from the rigidity of traditional AI's memory accumulation problem.

The current open-source version of CogniBrain serves as the underlying foundation for pure cognitive capabilities, complete with GUI visualization, persistent brain state storage, and interactive training features. The upcoming official full conversational version will introduce an independent human-computer dialogue interaction layer, harnessing the power of this cognitive core to facilitate real, thinking-based dialogue, complex multi-turn interaction, active communication, and advanced cognitive reasoning.
