BJP seeks Rahul apology over PM mimicry

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi following a stand-up comedy performance at the Chhatron Ki Goonj programme in Indore. The comedy skit involved comedian Pulkit Mani mimicking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's manner of greeting international leaders, as well as imitating Modi's speech pattern by saying "Ma."

This has sparked a political dispute between the BJP and the Congress party. Satish Poonia, the national general secretary of the BJP, has demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi on behalf of the party, citing the insult directed at the mother of the Prime Minister. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal also joined the criticism, accusing Gandhi and his programme of resorting to falsehoods and making personal insults towards Modi's mother, who is no longer alive.

In response, Congress leader Raashid Alvi defended Rahul Gandhi, stating that the act was merely mimicry and not an insult. Alvi further alleged that the real insult came from the remarks made by Modi about Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi's mother.
