Anderson leads Tarleton State’s aerial attack with 3 TDs in 45-20 win over Merrimack

Kaden Anderson spearheaded Tarleton State's aerial assault, connecting for a career-high three touchdowns and throwing for 407 yards in their 45-20 victory over Merrimack on Saturday night.

Tarleton State's dominance began early, as Chris Robinson returned a fumble 77 yards for a touchdown to seize a 7-0 lead. Alejandro De La Poza added a 36-yard field goal. James Paige then scored a 3-yard touchdown, propelling the Texans to a 17-0 advantage.

Merrimack managed to keep the game competitive, with a pair of scoring passes from Hairston to Austin Palmer - one for 24 yards and another for 7 yards - with just seconds remaining in the half. Despite this, Tarleton State's Anderson continued his stellar performance with a 32-yard touchdown to Marquis Willis.

Bryce Green followed up with a 29-yard touchdown run, extending the Texans' lead to 38-14. This three-touchdown run in the third quarter effectively sealed the game.

Hairston put up 214 passing yards and added three touchdowns for Merrimack, who entered the game at 1-3. Tarleton State, currently at 4-0, will take a brief break before facing Chicago State on October 3.
