An Israeli fatally shot and troops kill a man in the West Bank, and other Mideast developments

On Sunday morning in the northern West Bank, a shooting attack took place where a 30-year-old man fatally shot an Israeli. The Palestinian attacker opened fire from a vehicle before fleeing on foot. Later that day, Israeli soldiers killed another alleged attacker who attempted to run over soldiers with his vehicle near the city of Jenin. The military is currently searching for the driver of the vehicle.

In the broader Middle East, Egypt, Jordan, and Kuwait expressed condemnation of the Houthi rebels in Yemen after they fired a ballistic missile at the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Saturday. These Arab and Muslim nations stated that the attack posed a threat to regional security and stability, violating international law. The Muslim World League, in particular, condemned the act as a violation of "all religious values as well as international and humanitarian laws and norms."

Six French citizens suspected of being members of the Islamic State group were put on trial in Iraq. These individuals are among 47 French nationals held in Iraq, who were among thousands repatriated from neighboring Syria earlier this year.
