Amazon (AMZN) Sued Again, This Time over How it Treats Pregnant Warehouse Workers

Amazon faces another lawsuit alleging systemic discrimination against pregnant warehouse workers. The proposed nationwide class action in Brooklyn federal court, filed by A Better Balance, accuses Amazon of denying basic accommodations like chairs and bathroom breaks, as well as firing workers for missing too much time due to pregnancy-related medical needs.

This lawsuit follows similar claims in New Jersey (2025) and New York (2022). Amazon contends it provides pregnancy-related accommodations to thousands of employees annually and approved over 99.9% of requests in the past year. Despite this, Amazon faces financial risks from potential penalties or higher compliance costs. The EEOC's proposed changes to pregnancy-workplace rules could impact Amazon's defense in the lawsuit, as well as similar claims.

The ongoing legal battles could also damage Amazon's reputation and increase pressure to change warehouse policies.
