유엔 총회 ‘AI 통제 불능 우려’ 논의…오픈AI 올트먼 발표 예정

United States President Donald Trump announced plans to create an "Artificial Intelligence Force" (AI Force) during his recent social media post, asserting that concerns over AI losing control are merely a "manipulation ploy." At the recent UN General Assembly, the international community expressed urgent concern over AI's uncontrollable nature.

Trump claimed that his administration would soon appoint an "AI Director" responsible for overseeing the development of this AI Force, which he described as composed of high-intelligence individuals only. AI expert David Cass testified that artificial intelligence could be comparable to a second industrial revolution or even more expansive than the internet, potentially accounting for 25% of the United States' gross domestic product.

However, Trump did not provide specific details on the AI Force's role, structure, or operational methods. Most major news outlets have reported that the United States already has various AI-related agencies, such as the Cyber Command, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and that there is insufficient information available to determine the specific nature of the planned AI Force.

Trump dismissed concerns about AI's risks as "manipulation ploys" and linked them to a series of "manipulation ploys" created by radical left-wing Democrats. He further stated that the United States must not interfere with or hinder the growth of this remarkable industry, instead promoting and supporting it. Later that same day, Trump tweeted that the term "artificial intelligence" was imprecise and inaccurate, proposing alternative terms such as "superintelligence," "peak intelligence," or "ultimate intelligence."

The White House has been holding numerous high-level meetings with the Vice President and the Secretary of the Treasury, among others, to address the threat of AI, according to The Wall Street Journal. These meetings have been ongoing for several months. The UN General Assembly is set to open on the 22nd, with AI's potential to surpass human control being a major topic of discussion.

The UN's Security Council will hold a meeting on the 23rd to discuss concerns over AI's loss of control and its impact on international peace and security. On the 24th, a joint conference on AI crisis will be held, organized by AI safety organizations, the UN Development Programme (UNDP), and UNESCO. Former US President Barack Obama criticized Trump's administration for its lack of capability and willingness to establish a serious regulatory framework, stating that the current president is treating the issue as "a burden for the losers."
