6th batch of Pentagon UAP files: Air Force talk and more

On September 18, 2026, the U.S. Pentagon released its 6th batch of declassified UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) files. The release includes 72 files, composed of 15 videos, 56 documents, and one audio recording. This batch does not contain any image files, and all materials are available on the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE) website.

Air Force Assistant Secretary of Defense Sean Parnell stated that the Department of Defense is publishing these files as part of the PURSUE system, which continues to house all historical and declassified UAP files at WAR.GOV/UFO. The Department will be releasing additional files regularly.

Among the files in this batch, one of the most intriguing is an infrared video recorded in 2025, showing six small spheres or orbs moving at an estimated speed of 480 miles per hour (770 kph). This video was submitted by the United States Indo-Pacific Command and depicts an unidentified object over a U.S. military platform. The report describes the UAP as "seem[ing] agile" and "frequently changing direction."

Another highlight of this release is an audio recording of a 1952 presentation by Captain Edward Ruppelt, who headed the US Air Force's Project Blue Book in the 1950s. Ruppelt discusses 800 historical UFO cases, noting that approximately 20% of the reports remained unexplained after technical analysis. He emphasizes the importance of a systematic data collection effort to better evaluate these sightings, while also pointing out that no conclusive evidence was found regarding the nature or origin of the phenomena.
