Will not remain spectator if CPI(M), LDF are politically hunted: Binoy Viswam

The Communist Party of India (CPI) has declared it will not be a passive observer if the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) and the Left Democratic Front (LDF) become targets of political persecution, according to Binoy Viswam, the party's Keralam state secretary. This stance emerged in response to concerns raised by the media about a letter received by the State Police Chief from the Enforcement Directorate to file a first information report (FIR) against Opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter T. Veena, and her husband P.A.

Mohamed Riyas in connection with the CMRL-Exalogic pay-off case. Initially, Viswam indicated that the party would carefully consider and respond to the matter. However, he later clarified that the CPI holds a firm position on this issue, a stance that need not be reiterated constantly.
