White House bars CNN, MS Now and Politico reporters after Trump ban

On Saturday, the White House denied access to journalists from CNN, MS Now, and Politico, following President Donald Trump's announcement that he would ban them from the building's grounds. All three news outlets separately reported that their teams' press passes were confiscated on Saturday morning. They have expressed intentions to contest the ban, claiming it conflicts with the US Constitution's First Amendment protections for free speech and a free press.

CNN called the ban an "illegal assault" on its constitutional right to do journalism without interference from the government, while MS Now and Politico vowed to "defend our First Amendment rights" and "take any and all steps necessary" to support independent journalism in democracy. Trump had accused the outlets of reporting "FAKE NEWS" and "LIES" when covering the President of the United States.
