Warangal’s Mamnoor airport land acquisition completed; Telangana CM invites public to suggest names

Warangal's Mamnoor airport land acquisition project has been finalized, with the Telangana Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, inviting the public to suggest a name for the new airport. The state government has allocated ₹295 crore for acquiring the necessary land, and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has released a tender worth ₹213.59 crore for the construction of a domestic terminal building, ATC tower, fire station, and other associated facilities.

This development marks a significant milestone in Warangal's long-standing demand for an airport, as the previous BRS government failed to make it a reality despite being in power for 10 years. Reddy emphasized that the new airport would serve as a gateway for industry, tourism, education, employment, and investment in the region, with plans to incorporate Warangal's Kakatiya heritage and culture into its design.

The government aims to have the airport operational by June 2, 2028, and it will strengthen connectivity to Warangal, supporting its growing industrial base, including the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park and other industries.
