VSU students clean up Mypadu Beach, take pledge to reduce plastic usage

On International Coastal Cleanup Day, the Department of Marine Biology at Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) organized a beach-cleaning programme at Mypadu Beach in collaboration with National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT). The event took place as part of the 'Swachh Sagar – Surakshit Sagar 5.0' initiative. VSU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Allam Srinivasa Rao graced the occasion as the chief guest, with Prof. K. Suneetha serving as the registrar and NIOT Scientist Dr. Deviram Garlapati as the guest of honour.

VSU students and faculty members enthusiastically participated in an extensive cleanliness drive, not only at Mypadu Beach but also in its surrounding areas. The dedicated individuals took a pledge to maintain the cleanliness of coastal areas, reduce plastic consumption, safeguard the marine environment, and raise public awareness on the issue.
