Ujjain Mayor Calls Off Protest After CM Mohan Yadav’s Assurance In Roadshow Row

Ujjain Mayor Mukesh Tatwal has cancelled his planned protest following Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's assurance of appropriate action following an incident at a BJP roadshow. The controversy arose when Tatwal was asked to step down from a chariot during the roadshow. On Saturday, Yadav met with Tatwal, the state president of the Bairwa community, and other officials.

Following the Chief Minister's guarantee, Tatwal decided to cancel the protest that was set to take place in front of Dr Ambedkar's statue on Sunday. He also released a video, stating that he had provided Yadav with a full account of the events and had been assured of the necessary action being taken. Earlier, Congress leaders had met with Tatwal, honoring him with a turban and welcoming him with floral tributes.

Tatwal had not been invited to several important meetings, including those of the Shri Mahakaleshwar Management Committee, of which he is an ex-officio member, and was also absent from several 'bhoomi pujan' programs and ward meetings in Ujjain Municipal Corporation. Meanwhile, BJP leaders visited Tatwal at his residence, with officials like Gautam Tetwal and Sanjay Agrawal acknowledging the mistake.
