Trevino's 2-run single with bases loaded in 6th propels Reds to 6-4 win over Cubs

Jose Trevino played a pivotal role with a two-run single to right field, bringing his team to the brink of victory as the bases were loaded. Michael Conforto contributed three hits for the Cubs, who have lost two out of their last three matches.

The Cubs had the tying run on base with two outs in the ninth inning, but their momentum was halted when Michael Busch was caught stealing at second base on a pitchout called by Trevino. Busch's stolen base was overturned by instant replay, and his name remained on the scorecard.

Clay Holmes pitched 5 1/3 innings for Chicago, allowing six runs, while Eugenio Suárez tied the game at 4-4 with a base hit that drove in Elly De La Cruz. Héctor Rodríguez grounded into a fielder's choice, allowing Tyler Stephenson to be tagged out at home.
