Stray Kids' Bang Chan donates 200 mln won for rehabilitation patients, Nepal relief

Bang Chan, the lead vocalist of K-pop boy band Stray Kids, has made a significant donation of 200 million won (US$143,915) to aid rehabilitation patients and to support Nepal flood relief efforts, according to a statement from his agency on Saturday. The funds have been divided equally, with 100 million won each going to the Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital and the Korean Committee for UNICEF.

The donations are aimed at establishing specialized rehabilitation centers for patients at the hospital and to bolster UNICEF Korea's flood relief operations in Nepal.

Bang expressed his desire to provide some comfort to those facing challenging and exhausting circumstances, hoping that those affected can quickly return to their peaceful daily lives. This is not the first time the singer has shown his charitable side. On his birthday in October last year, he donated 100 million won to pediatric and adolescent patients, followed by another 100 million won to support children worldwide.

Additionally, last year, he contributed funds alongside his bandmates for recovery efforts following massive forest fires in the Gyeongsang provinces and fire damage in Hong Kong. For his birthday in 2024, he again donated 100 million won to support individuals with developmental disabilities.
