In that match, Johan Manzambi, a 20-year-old Swiss attacking midfielder, scored the opening goal for Villa in first-half stoppage time. Nicolas Jackson scored another for Villa, while Conor Gallagher and Jan Paul van Hecke scored late consolation goals for Tottenham.

This is Tottenham's first league goal of the season, and it leaves them with two losses and three defeats in five league games under Roberto De Zerbi's leadership. The team's buildup in the offseason failed to yield immediate results, and De Zerbi, an Italian coach, is facing mounting pressure heading into a long international break.

Additionally, Spain's World Cup-winning right back Pedro Porro was injured midway through the first half and had to be substituted. There are four more games remaining for Tottenham, including a match against champion Arsenal at Brighton.
