Saudi Arabia issues alerts across the country for aerial threat, and other Mideast developments

Saudi Arabia issued emergency alerts across the country, including its capital Riyadh, on Friday and early Saturday due to a "hostile aerial threat." No casualties or damage were reported after the alerts were lifted. The alert was first heard in Riyadh since the latest escalation with Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels. Iran's state TV reported on Saturday that a man named Hossein Pedram was executed after being convicted of spying for Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad.

Pedram allegedly passed on classified information on sensitive military sites in Iran's Isfahan province. The U.N.'s Security Council condemned the Houthi missile attacks against Saudi Arabia and commercial vessels, warning that continued escalation would exacerbate the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
