Saudi Arabia condemns Pakistan mosque bombing that killed at least 16

Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned a terrorist attack on a mosque in Pakistan that claimed at least 16 lives and left 57 people injured, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The kingdom unequivocally rejects attacks on places of worship, terrorizing innocent civilians, and the loss of precious lives. Saudi leaders have expressed their unwavering solidarity with Pakistan in the fight against all forms of violence, extremism, and terrorism, irrespective of their motives or justifications.

The kingdom has offered its deepest condolences to the families of the victims, the Pakistani government, and the people, while also wishing the injured a swift recovery.

The deadly blast targeted a mosque near a police compound in Kohat district, Pakistan, during Friday prayers. According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial police chief Zulfiqar Hameed, a vehicle laden with explosives rammed into the mosque, resulting in a suicide attack. Police officers and civilians, including worshippers, were among those who lost their lives.

The injured, many of whom were in critical condition, included both police personnel and ordinary citizens. The mosque and the outer wall of the adjacent police station sustained severe damage due to the explosion and ensuing chaos.
