Russian attack on Odesa leaves more than 178,000 households without power

Russian forces launched a strike on Odesa overnight, damaging an administrative building and leaving over 178,000 households without electricity. The Odesa City Military Administration head, Serhii Lysak, reported the aftermath on Telegram, noting no casualties or injuries at the time of the report. One of the strikes hit the same administrative building twice in one night, as confirmed by the Odesa Oblast Military Administration head, Oleh Kiper.

The administrative building suffered a fire, which was quickly put out by emergency services. Apart from the building, two residential houses, an educational facility, a vehicle, and a minibus were damaged. Energy company DTEK reported that more than 178,000 households in the Odesa Oblast were left without power, resulting in emergency outages in parts of Odesa Raion, including Peresyp and Prymorskyi districts.

These disruptions could potentially affect critical infrastructure and electric public transportation. The Russian aerial assault against Ukraine involved the use of Zircon anti-ship missiles and 174 drones, with Ukraine's Air Force reporting the loss of 141 aerial targets.
