Although Chimaev conceded a few takedowns, he maintained his relentless pressure on Burns, racking up 15 points in the match. The Chechen fighter capitalized on a quick double-leg takedown attempt from Chimaev, which pushed Burns out of bounds, securing an easy point.

Chimaev continued his dominance with a slick four-point takedown, leading 5-0 at the close of the first period. However, Burns demonstrated resilience by exploding forward with a two-point takedown of his own, further energizing Chimaev. Chimaev then followed up with another takedown, taking the lead to 11-2. Despite Burns' valiant efforts, he was unable to retain his lead into the second period, as Chimaev secured the match with a four-point takedown, ultimately ending the bout at 15-4.

While Burns showcased a commendable performance, he will have another opportunity to compete in RAF in the future.
