Radha Ashtami Celebrations Begin In Barsana And Mathura With Traditional Fervour; CM Yogi Extends Warm Wishes

Radha Ashtami, a significant Hindu festival marking the birth anniversary of Goddess Radha, commenced in Barsana and Mathura, Uttar Pradesh with traditional enthusiasm. This year, the festival falls on Saturday, September 19, and devotees from across the globe gathered at the temples for prayers and rituals. In Barsana, known as the birthplace of Radha, the temples were adorned with flowers and colorful lights.

At the Radha Rani Temple, Radha Rani Abhishek was performed with Panchamrit at 4 AM, accompanied by Vedic chants and religious rituals. Mathura, too, witnessed a large number of devotees flocking to the Shri Radha Rani Temple to participate in the celebrations. The festival, observed on the eighth day of the Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada, involves special bhajans, kirtans, and devotional programs.

Additionally, devotees take a holy dip at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj on this auspicious occasion. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conveyed his greetings to the devotees, emphasizing the spiritual significance of Radha Ashtami, and expressing his desire for the eternal flame of love for Radha and devotion to Krishna to remain unbroken.
