Qatar Charity to participate in UNGA81

Qatar Charity will join the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81) to bolster international humanitarian and development efforts. The session, to be held in New York, will gather world leaders, global entities, civil society, and other stakeholders for a week of discussions on pressing global issues. Headed by CEO Yousuf AlKuwari, the delegation will engage in high-level dialogues, roundtables, and parallel events focusing on humanitarian action, the right to development, AI's role in humanitarian work, refugee protection, and the evolving development landscape.

Bilateral meetings with representatives from governments, UN agencies, international and national NGOs, and private-sector partners will also be held. Qatar Charity aims to emphasize the potential of Islamic philanthropy as a vital source of financing and partnership, especially in the face of shrinking aid budgets and widening funding gaps.

AlKuwari emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and building effective partnerships amid growing humanitarian needs and constrained resources. UNGA81 will provide a platform for the Global South to share its perspectives and build alliances to translate shared priorities into actionable solutions.
