'Irreparable tragedy' — Mother, 2 children killed in Russian strike on Kyiv Oblast

A tragic incident unfolded in the village of Hlevakha, within Kyiv Oblast's Fastiv district, on September 19. According to Governor Tymur Tkachenko, a Russian strike resulted in the loss of a 39-year-old woman and her two young children – a daughter aged three and a son of two. The grief-stricken Tkachenko expressed his deepest condolences to the families affected by this irreparable tragedy.

Preliminary reports indicated that a Russian drone was responsible for the fatal attack on the house. Three victims succumbed to their injuries, while another woman sustained injuries from the blast. Homes and a vehicle sustained damage, and a fire broke out in one of the residences, though it was eventually brought under control.

The region remained on high alert throughout the day, as Russian forces continued their relentless drone attacks, leaving a trail of destruction. In the Vyshhorod district, a mother and child were also injured and subsequently hospitalized. The educational facility and a bus were among the civilian sites damaged by the relentless Russian onslaught.

Across Kyiv Oblast, Russian attacks affected at least nine civilian locations on that fateful day, including warehouses, a production facility, a garage, vehicles, and an apartment building. As the attacks persisted, Russia escalated its use of drones, specifically targeting residential areas and civilian infrastructure.

This devastating incident is a stark reminder of the escalating Russian aggression in Ukraine. Earlier on September 19, another Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv resulted in the death of five people and injury of dozens. The situation demands urgent attention and a swift response from the international community.
