PM Modi says 51,000+ youth receive employment

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Saturday that over 51,000 young individuals across India had received appointment letters for government positions under the 20th Rozgar Mela. Speaking to the newly appointed candidates virtually, the Prime Minister emphasized the pivotal role youth play in India's path to becoming a developed nation by 2047, known as Viksit Bharat.

Amid the festive season, Modi said the appointment of these young people brought joy to thousands of families. He highlighted that the newly recruited individuals were entering the Government of India at a time when the country was progressing towards this major goal. PM Modi stressed that every decision made by these young government employees should contribute to the advancement of Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

He also noted the global recognition of India's youth talent and skills, stating that the world expects great things from Indian innovators, entrepreneurs, and youth. The Prime Minister highlighted India's free trade agreements with nearly 40 countries, which are opening new opportunities for entrepreneurs and creating fresh career prospects for young people.

Modi praised the government's initiatives to prepare youth for the future, such as the National Education Policy, the Skill India Mission, the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, and efforts to promote apprenticeships. He also discussed India's burgeoning startup ecosystem, noting that nearly half of all recognized startups are based in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, indicating the significant role of youth from smaller cities in the nation's new economy.

The Prime Minister announced the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, a scheme with an estimated budget of Rs 1 lakh crore, aiming to employ around 2 crore youth for the first time. The scheme offers incentives to youth securing their first job and employers for creating new employment opportunities. The 20th Rozgar Mela, held at 45 locations nationwide, resulted in over 12.75 lakh youth receiving appointment letters through this initiative.

In Pune, Murlidhar Mohol, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, confirmed that the Prime Minister's vision for youth employment was becoming a reality, with 12 lakh young people already employed through this scheme.
