PH, Bersatu in talks for ‘PH Plus’ alliance in Melaka polls

In Melaka, Pakatan Harapan's chapter is in the process of finalising discussions with parties that share similar objectives, including the United Malays National Organisation (Bersatu), to create a PH Plus alliance ahead of the upcoming election, according to Adly Zahari, the Melaka chapter chairman of Pakatan Harapan. The negotiations are being carried out according to the decisions made during a recent PH presidential council meeting.

Adly stated that these talks also involve Bersatu, however, any form of cooperation will only be disclosed once the negotiation process is concluded. A press conference was held after the launch of Amanah's election machinery in Duyong, Melaka, where Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and his deputy, Mujahid Yusof Rawa, were present.

Adly, who is also an Amanah vice-president, confirmed that the distribution of seats within Pakatan Harapan for Melaka polls has been finalized, with eight seats allocated to Amanah. These contested seats include Bukit Katil, Durian Tunggal, Telok Mas, and Merlimau. When asked about the possibility of forming an alliance with Barisan Nasional, Adly affirmed that no negotiations have been initiated with the coalition thus far.
