Over 10 cases of kidnapping reported in Capital in a single day

Islamabad faced a surge in crimes during a recent week, with over 10 instances of kidnapping reported on a single day, according to Business Recorder. This period saw 36 carjacking cases, 12 incidents of street crime, and 17 theft cases, including robberies and break-ins. Criminal gangs showed heightened activity in specific police stations, notably Khanna, Noon, Shalimar, Sihala, Tarnol, Koral, Humak, and Aabpara.

Khanna police station reported three kidnapping cases, including the disappearance of a 16-year-old boy from Bilal Town and a 15-year-old girl from Iqbal Town. The station also recorded two cases each of robbery, street crime, and car lifting. Noon police station logged two each of robbery, street crime, and car lifting, along with two more street crime cases and three car lifting incidents.

Shalimar police station registered three kidnapping cases, including a woman kidnapped within its jurisdiction, and two cases each of robbery and car lifting.

Sihala police station recorded three kidnapping cases, involving an 18-year-old girl from Model Town. Additionally, one case each of car lifting and kidnapping was reported at the Karachi Company police station. In a separate incident, three women abducted a newborn baby from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital. The police later traced the kidnappers and recovered the infant, registering a case under Section 364-A of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
