Opposition alliance TTAP assures PTI of its support for Sept 27 long march

Islamabad: The Tehreek-i-Tahaffuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) has vowed to collaborate with the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) for their planned long march on September 27. This decision was reached during a meeting chaired by TTAP head Mahmood Khan Achakzai, where the opposition alliance reaffirmed their commitment to a peaceful, constitutional, and democratic struggle.

The opposition parties agreed to expedite contacts with all democratic parties and decided to hold a multi-party conference (MPC) to address pressing national issues. All democratic forces were urged to unite under one platform to restore constitutional and political rights, which according to them, have been severely curtailed due to political repression and the suspension of human rights since the 26th Amendment.

PTI leaders presented their plan for the protest on September 27 and shared details about Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi's outreach campaign in Sindh and Punjab. The participants emphasized that peaceful protests are a fundamental right of the public and every political party, and no deviation from this principle is allowed. They also affirmed that the Sept 27 protest is the starting point of a nationwide movement aimed at reclaiming the people's right to rule.

All TTAP leaders and representatives of other parties expressed their support for PTI's leadership and pledged to coordinate with political forces outside the alliance to convene the MPC on critical national issues. They unanimously agreed that all democratic political forces must come together and coordinate to help steer the country out of the current crisis. Specific responsibilities were assigned, and committees were formed to facilitate coordination with other political parties.
