NK leader calls for 'most concentrated and destructive' artillery capability

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un emphasized the need for his country's artillery forces to possess the most concentrated and destructive capabilities during a recent visit to major munitions factories. Accompanied by senior officials, including Pak Jong-chon, Kim inspected various munitions enterprises from Wednesday to Friday, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

Kim stressed that the artillery should have a massive and versatile offensive capability, capable of responsibly performing the dual missions of deterring and engaging in war. The KCNA quoted him as stating, "Our artillery should have the most concentrated and destructive, massive and versatile offensive capability and responsibly perform the two missions of deterring and fighting war."

The North Korean leader urged the munitions industry to play a more significant role in executing the strategic policy of the ruling Workers' Party, which aims to build the most powerful army. Kim outlined several policy tasks, such as enhancing the level of artificial intelligence in offensive and defensive weapons, upgrading the armor and automation of artillery weapons, and improving production conditions.
