Ravindra, 26, is a versatile batter who can open or open-middle in New Zealand's lineup, and is also a left-arm finger-spinner. He has been New Zealand's leading run-scorer in the 50-over World Cup in 2023 and the highest wicket-taker in this year's T20 World Cup, where the team reached the final. New Zealand's performance manager Mike Sandle expressed disappointment over the injury, stating that the commercial shoot activities were agreed upon with appropriate safety measures in place.
