Moving from Newcastle to Liverpool easy decision – Isak

Alexander Isak, the Swedish striker who joined Liverpool last summer for a British record transfer fee of £125 million, says the decision was an "easy decision". In an interview with BBC Sport’s The Football Interview, Isak highlighted the club's ambition and will to get him on board as key factors behind his move from Newcastle. He had initially been on the verge of leaving Newcastle due to broken promises, but Liverpool's offer proved too enticing.

Despite struggling for goals in his first season at Anfield and missing pre-season due to a leg break, Isak has now scored three Premier League goals this season. He emphasized that he never regretted the move, stating that looking back wouldn't benefit him. Isak also shared his excitement for the upcoming season, looking forward to contributing to Liverpool's success.

During his time with Liverpool last season, Isak made his World Cup debut for Sweden, scoring once and assisting three goals. He praised the competition and experience gained from participating in the tournament. For his new coach, Andoni Iraola, defending from the front is an "attacking weapon" for Liverpool. Iraola wants Isak to defend in positions that allow for quick counterattacks, emphasizing the importance of defense in scoring goals.

With Iraola's emphasis on a front-foot and aggressive style of play, Isak believes this approach will benefit the team and help them score more goals. Despite not setting personal targets, Isak, who holds the record for the most Premier League goals with 60, is determined to help Liverpool achieve trophies this season.
