Melaka Pakatan finalising talks with Bersatu, others to form PH Plus for state polls

Melaka, September 19 — In pursuit of the Melaka State Election, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) party in Melaka is currently engaged in discussions with like-minded entities, such as Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), in order to establish a PH Plus coalition. PH Melaka chairman Adly Zahari disclosed that these negotiations were being conducted according to decisions made during a PH Presidential Council meeting.

The talks encompass Bersatu, but any potential alliance would only be disclosed once the negotiation process concludes, according to Adly, speaking at a press conference following his participation in Amanah’s election machinery launch in Duyong.

Present at the event were Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, who also serves as the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, and Amanah deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa. Meanwhile, Adly, who also holds the position of Deputy Defence Minister, revealed that the division of seats within PH among PKR, Amanah, and DAP has been finalized, with Amanah securing eight seats.

These contested state seats include Bukit Katil, Durian Tunggal, Telok Mas, and Merlimau. When questioned about the possibility of forming an alliance with Barisan Nasional (BN), Adly stated that no such talks had been initiated thus far.
