Melaka Pakatan finalising talks with Bersatu, others to form PH Plus for state polls

Melaka’s Pakatan Harapan (PH) chapter is in the process of discussions with parties that share similar goals, such as Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), in order to form a PH Plus alliance for the upcoming Melaka State Election. The negotiations are taking place in line with decisions made during a meeting of the PH Presidential Council.

Adly Zahari, the chairman of PH in Melaka, confirmed that talks with Bersatu are ongoing but no formal agreement will be made until the negotiations conclude. The discussion also involved Amanah’s president, Mohamad Sabu, who is also the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, and Amanah’s deputy president, Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa.

Adly, who serves as Deputy Defence Minister, revealed that the distribution of seats within PH has already been determined, including the allocation of eight seats to Amanah. Amanah plans to contest the state seats of Bukit Katil, Durian Tunggal, Telok Mas and Merlimau. When asked about potential collaboration with Barisan Nasional (BN), Adly stated that there have been no such talks thus far.
