MACC gives Azeez, family one month to declare assets

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has issued notices to former TH Chairman Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim and his family, including his children, demanding they disclose their assets. Chief Commissioner Abdul Halim Aman explained that the notices were issued in line with legal provisions, with a one-month deadline for the declaration.

If necessary, extensions can be granted depending on circumstances. Abdul Halim confirmed the notices extended to Abdul Azeez's children, though he did not specify the exact number. As of September 18, six individuals were charged in connection with eight cases investigated following the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on TH.

Five investigations are still ongoing. Abdul Azeez was previously charged with using his position to secure the chairmanship of Putrajaya Perdana Berhad and to convince the TH Board to approve an RM193.5 million investment proposal. Additionally, MACC officers are recording statements from former FELDA Chairman Tan Sri Isa Samad, who is being investigated alongside FELDA and FIC for suspected corruption, misappropriation, and abuse of power involving asset purchases between 2010 and 2020.
