Malaysia Airlines has been named the Best Airline Staffing in Asia for 2026, as awarded by the Skytrax World Airline Awards. The airline's cabin crew secured the third place in the World Best Cabin Crew category, climbing five spots from its position in 2025. The airline also climbed six notches to rank 21st in the World Best Airline category, marking progress in its transformation supported by continuous investment across human resources, product, fleet, network, and customer offerings.

Additionally, Malaysia Airlines improved its standing in other categories, moving up from sixth to second place in the World Best Airport Service category, and reaching its debut 18th place in the Best Business Class Airline category. The airline also climbed to 12th place in the Best Economy Class Airline category, up from 16th place in 2025, and to 11th place in the Cleanest Airline category, moving up from 12th place the previous year.

The airline maintains its position among the top 10 airways in Asia, securing the 10th spot this year. Nasaruddin A Bakar, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysia Aviation Group, said, "This recognition reflects the collective efforts of our airline staff on the ground, in the air, and behind the scenes, working together every day to provide Malaysia Hospitality throughout passengers' journeys.

This achievement comes after years of consistent global ranking improvement, marking a significant accomplishment for the national carrier, in addition to the commendation for our dedicated team's hard work." He added that the airline's friendly, considerate, and consistent service attitude is what sets Malaysia Airlines apart. According to the statement, Malaysia Airlines will continue to diversify products and services in its aircraft while developing its network, offering more choices and seamless connections to its customers.

The upgrade of the fleet remains an essential part of this, with 29 new aircraft received so far and plans to increase the fleet to 117 modern aircraft by 2035, expanding capacity to support growth. This is supported by a continued focus on operational excellence, with punctuality performance averaging 91.38% so far this year, consistently surpassing the target, he said.

This development is part of Malaysia Airlines' long-term business plan MAG 3.0, with the goal of becoming one of the top 10 airlines globally by 2030.
