Inside the three-month plan for 2013 Naxal ambush that wiped off Chhattisgarh Congress leadership

In a meticulously planned attack that occurred over three months and resulted in the deaths of 27 people, including the targeted Congress leader Mahendra Karma, on May 25, 2013, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) court has classified the Chhattisgarh case as one of the "rarest of the rare" and sentenced 10 convicted Maoists to death.

The attack on the Congress's Parivartan Yatra convoy vehicles involved the use of 8 to 9 kg of explosives, with approximately 206 bullets fired. The attackers carefully chose the Jhiram Valley site, conducting site surveys and recces, and even held a rehearsal before the incident. The condemned Maoist leader, Barse Sukka alias Deva, was given the task of executing the attack.

The group of about 100 Maoists, supported by Jan Militia members, established temporary command centers on both sides of the road for a week leading up to the attack.
